Privacy Policy for Cursor Pixie
Cursor Pixie ("the App") is a macOS menu bar utility developed by Shinya Yoshiitaka. This policy explains how the App handles information.
Summary
Cursor Pixie does not collect, sell, or share personal data with the developer. The App works entirely on your Mac. Settings and cursor images are stored locally on your device. However, if you contact us by email, we may receive contact details and inquiry content as needed for support operations.
Information the App Stores on Your Device
- App preferences such as enable/disable state, scale, hotspot, and launch-at-login settings
- Security-scoped bookmarks and managed copies of cursor images you choose
- A list of recently used cursor images and pinned items
This data stays on your Mac and is not transmitted to the developer.
Information the App Accesses but Does Not Collect
- Cursor image files you select, read with your permission through the sandbox and file picker
- Pointer position and mouse button state, used in real time to position the overlay and detect dragging
- Display and workspace changes, used to keep the overlay visible across screens and Spaces
Purchases (Support / Tip Jar)
Optional support (Tip Jar) is processed by Apple through StoreKit. The developer does not receive your payment card details. Apple may provide purchase-related information according to its own policies.
Third-Party Services
The App does not include analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs from third parties. Network access is used only for App Store and StoreKit functionality when you choose to load or purchase support (Tip Jar) options.
Diagnostics
The App writes diagnostic messages to the system log using Apple's unified logging (OSLog). These logs remain on your device and are not sent to the developer.
Support Inquiry Information
If you contact us via info@shinyatan.com, we may receive:
- Email address
- Inquiry message content
- Information you voluntarily provide (such as app version, macOS version, or screenshot links)
This information is used only for support response, follow-up communication, and support quality improvement. Support inquiry information is generally deleted within 90 days after the case is closed, unless retention is required by law.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
Data Retention and Deletion
Local app data remains until you delete it or uninstall the App. Removing a cursor image, clearing recent items, or uninstalling the App removes the corresponding local files and settings.
